Section 10
Registration of Insurers

(1) No one shall engage in insurance business without obtaining a certificate in accordance with this Act. (2) Domestic and foreign organized organizations wishing to engage in insurance business shall submit an application to the office of the committee to register their name as an insurer in the prescribed format, attaching the following documents along with the prescribed fee. a) Articles of association and regulations of your organization, (b) the insurance business you are going to do, its policies and conditions, (c) if you are doing life insurance business, a document showing the amount and liability to be charged for doing that business, (d) receipts for insurance Document on how to use the funds, and (e) other necessary documents specified by the committee. (3) After receiving the application as per sub-section (2), the committee shall carry out necessary investigation on the said application and if there is any need to understand with the applicant, the applicant's name shall be entered in the prescribed register book. After registration, the applicant shall be given a certificate of insurance in the prescribed format, mentioning the type of insurance business that the applicant can do, and if there is a valid reason not to register, the committee shall inform the relevant applicant. (4) Notwithstanding anything else written in this section, in the case of life insurance, the committee shall - On the basis of fulfilling the standards determined regarding the operation of insurance business in time, a certificate will be issued for operating the business with the approval of the Government of Nepal.
